Terms of Service
Last updated: 30 September 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of RingTrade's automated call-answering service (the "Service"), provided by RingTrade ("we", "us" or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and confirm you have read our Privacy Policy.
1. Who can use the Service
The Service is for UK-based businesses and self-employed individuals that provide trades or property maintenance services. By signing up you confirm that:
- You are at least 18 years old and have authority to accept these Terms for yourself or your business
- The information you give us is accurate and up to date
2. Sign-up, fees and access
Pricing, billing and how to cancel are shown when you subscribe and in your dashboard.
3. How the Service works
The Service uses an automated assistant to answer calls you are unable to take. The assistant will:
- Tell the caller it is an automated assistant and that the call may be recorded
- Record the call and collect the caller's details, such as name, postcode, address and the nature of the problem
- Send you the details and a recording link by text message, and send the caller a text message confirming their report
- Where we have agreed it with you, pass details on in another way, such as booking into your calendar
The assistant is automated and may occasionally make mistakes, mishear or record details incorrectly. You are responsible for reviewing the details we send you and for following up with callers.
4. Not an emergency service
RingTrade is not an emergency service. For a gas smell, fire or other emergency the assistant may give general safety information and tell the caller to contact the National Gas Emergency Service or 999, but it does not dispatch or contact emergency services. You must not rely on the Service as your only means of handling emergency calls.
5. Your responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate and current contact details, and keep your login secure
- Review the details we send you promptly and respond to callers
- Comply with the law that applies to you, including on recording calls and on how you use the details of the people who call you.
- Use the Service only for your legitimate trade or property maintenance business
- Not misuse the Service, or attempt to copy, disrupt or reverse-engineer it
6. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- The Service is provided "as is", and we do not guarantee that every call will be answered or every detail recorded correctly
- We are not liable for missed or mis-recorded calls, communication failures, or loss of business, revenue or profits arising from use of the Service
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
7. Intellectual property
All content, branding, technology and software associated with RingTrade remain our property. You may not copy, modify or distribute any part of the Service without our written permission.
8. Data and privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data, including call recordings.
9. Suspension and ending your account
You can stop using the Service, and ask us to close your account, at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or end your access if:
- You breach these Terms
- We need to do so for security, legal or safety reasons
- We stop providing the Service
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will tell you by email. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
